Cape to Glen is far more than a race. It is an adventure that takes participants through some of the most remote and spectacular landscapes in the Scottish Highlands, challenging them to cross mountains, glens and wilderness on a journey from Cape Wrath to Glenfinnan. For many competitors, reaching the finish line represents the fulfilment of a long-held dream. As a volunteer, you become an essential part of making that dream possible.
Every successful participant will remember the volunteers they meet along the way. Whether you're welcoming competitors into an aid station after a long night in the hills, helping with registration, supporting the start and finish areas, or providing encouragement when it's needed most, your contribution can make a lasting difference to someone's experience. A friendly face, a warm drink or a few words of encouragement can mean more than you might imagine when someone has been travelling through the Highlands for days.
Volunteering is also an opportunity to experience the event from a unique perspective. You'll spend time immersed in some of Scotland's most beautiful landscapes, meet like-minded people who share a passion for adventure, and become part of the close-knit community that makes events like Cape to Glen so special. We hope many of our volunteers will return year after year, drawn by the camaraderie, atmosphere and satisfaction of helping others achieve something extraordinary.
Events like Cape to Glen simply could not happen without volunteers. Behind every competitor crossing the finish line is a team of dedicated people who have given up their own time to make the event possible. We are incredibly grateful for that support and want to recognise the commitment of those who help us deliver a safe, memorable and rewarding experience for everyone involved.
As a thank you, volunteers will receive event credit worth £150 per day, that can be put towards an entry into a future Cape to Glen event. You'll also receive some exclusive volunteer clothing, available only to members of the volunteer team, as a lasting reminder of your contribution to the adventure.
